Station Casinos donates more than $92,000 and 1,975 buffet dinners to Veterans Village and its residents from its Fourth Annual Month of Honor
(Las Vegas, July 11, 2018) – Station Casinos’ executives presented a check today for $92,181 to Veterans Village to help support local homeless veterans who live at the organization’s housing. The money was donated by Station Casinos as part of its fourth annual Month of Honor throughout May, where the company committed to donate a portion of its proceeds and gaming winnings from specific patriotic-themed dining, gaming and entertainment offerings at its properties. Station Casinos’ beverage partners Tito’s Vodka, Crown Royal and Budweiser as well as Kid’s Quest also committed a donation, and contributed to the total.
In addition, guests were invited to donate a portion of their Boarding Pass points to help feed a veteran in need. As a result, a total of 1,975 buffets will be donated. In 2015, the first year of Month of Honor, Station Casinos donated $58,178 for Veterans Village, and the number has risen every year since. In total, Station Casinos has donated $265,335 for Veterans Village through its Month of Honor program.
The check was presented to Veterans Village on Wednesday, July 11, at the hotel lobby inside Red Rock Resort, 11011 W. Charleston Blvd. Veterans Village is Southern Nevada’s only 24/7 crisis intervention and housing facility for homeless veterans. As such, Station Casinos has made a commitment to help this important piece of our community by giving to those who served.
Veterans Village is a nonprofit organization that provides transitional and permanent housing for U.S. Veterans and also offers on-site services, including a 24/7 crisis intervention center, medical and mental health services, job referral and training, clothing and a host of other services targeted at the promotion of independent living through economic and social self-sufficiency.
