Shepard Fairey's Studio Number One and Red Rock Resorts Foundation collaborate to create “Vegas Strong” artwork to benefit victims of Las Vegas tragedy

Iconic images visualized on T-shirts available at  www.VegasStrong.co for donation

(Las Vegas, October 6, 2017) – Red Rock Resorts Foundation, the not-for-profit arm of Station Casinos LLC, and Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One have collaborated to create a number of graphics titled “Neon Fist” and “Shine On” that capture the strength, unity and resilience of the Las Vegas community in the wake of the October 1 tragedy. The iconic images, memorialized on T-shirts, are available for sale at www.VegasStrong.co.  One hundred percent of the profits will be donated to local organizations in support of those impacted by the events of October 1.

“I, along with the rest of the world, was devastated to hear about the horrible and horrendous act of terror that took place in Las Vegas earlier this week. I have worked with incredible people in Vegas, and I have friends and family there. I was shocked when the news stories and video images started to circulate of this tragedy. My studio quickly banded together with some leaders in the Las Vegas community to create powerful visual messages of unity to depict the strength and resilience of this community. I'm proud that my team and I could help to contribute something that can give us all a message of hope in this dark time,” said Shepard Fairey.

“We have seen the incredible resolve of this community and hope that these iconic images will serve as a beautiful tribute to both the spirit of those affected by this horrible event and the ‘Vegas Strong’ movement,” said Richard Haskins, President of Red Rock Resorts. “Through this art collaboration, the Red Rock Resorts Foundation will continue to provide meaningful support to those impacted by this tragedy.”

Descriptions of Images:

  • Shine On - This graphic was inspired by the neon lights and vintage signage in Las Vegas. The overall composition forms a badge that proclaims the unity and strength of the people.
  • Neon Fist - The powerfully clenched hand represents the strength and solidarity of the people of Las Vegas. The vintage neon lettering is a nod to the city’s design history.

In addition to this effort, the Red Rock Resorts Foundation also recently announced that it has committed $1 million to the cause and is providing free hotel rooms to families traveling to Las Vegas to assist those in need.
