Project Pink was developed in 2010 by Red Rock’s executive pastry chef Jaret Blinn, who together with the executive team at Red Rock Resort, have become active in the fight against breast cancer after Blinn’s mother lost her battle with the disease. The response by the public was so overwhelming that the company expanded those efforts to several areas throughout each property to raise even greater awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer.

“We are so humbled and grateful that Station Casinos believes Komen Southern Nevada is worthy of their outstanding fundraising efforts,” said Stephanie Kirby, executive director for Susan G. Komen of Southern Nevada. “We absolutely love this campaign and adore that they come up with a new twist on the promotion each year. We truly look forward to participating in all of the activities…especially eating those pastries!”

The Southern Nevada Affiliate of Susan G. Komen® – along with those who generously support the organization with their talent, time and resources – is working to better the lives of those facing breast cancer in our community. Through events like the Komen Southern Nevada Race for the Cure®, more than $6 million in local breast health and breast cancer projects have been invested in Southern Nevada over the past 17 years. Up to 75 percent of net proceeds generated by the Affiliate provide grants for innovative community programs that reduce breast cancer mortality through screening, treatment, education and safety-net services, while the remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking breast cancer research grants. In 2013, the Affiliate funded nearly $635,000 in local breast health programs for the uninsured and underserved in Las Vegas and surrounding service areas, while providing more than $110,000 to breast cancer research.
